Solar power ahead

for Diephaus

Dosing, conveying, grinding, mixing, moulding: the production of paving stones and other concrete products is energy-intensive. Betonwerk Diephaus, headquartered in Vechta, has decided to install another photovoltaic system in line with its sustainability strategy.

Together with the solar specialists from our 1PUNKT5 group of companies, we implemented a 1.2 megawatt system – including grid connection and certification – at the Vechta site. Since autumn 2023, a total of 2,850 solar modules on three hall roofs have been providing a sustainable energy supply, enabling the company to generate a significant proportion of its total electricity consumption independently and almost emission-free from the power of the sun. As a result, the market leader avoids 527,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions every year.

This is a good thing not only for the environment and the team at the concrete plant. Our project manager Hauke Ostendorp was also delighted. “Jointly with 1PUNKT5, we at SCHULZ were once again able to make a sound contribution with our entire solar expertise. We planned and built the large 1,600-ampere distribution boards in our own switchgear manufacturing facility in Visbek and, together with our colleagues from Wallenhorst near Osnabrück, converted the medium-voltage protection technology. We don’t have to buy anything off the shelf, we can plan and build it ourselves and are largely independent of suppliers. We simply have all the photovoltaic expertise in the group of companies.” In line with this, 1PUNKT5 takes over the operational management of all solar systems at the Diephaus sites.
