On-site check of frequency inverters.
Frequency inverters are at the heart of precise process control in numerous industries. They not only ensure the infinitely variable control of motor speeds, but also play a decisive role in greater energy efficiency.
This makes it all the more important to know the current status of each frequency inverter in operation. We make this possible with the DrivePro® Site Assessment from Danfoss. We have been their system partner since 1988. The DrivePro® programme is made up of various service modules for frequency inverters. The site assessment is a central component of this, because it allows us to “record and evaluate the installed base and point out weak points to the customer”, explained our colleague Jürgen Borchert, Team Leader Sales Drive Technology.
A clear traffic light system is used for this. Red means: there is an urgent need for action. “We feed the app with the collected data and then receive an evaluation for each device: how old is it, is it still active, are there still spare parts available, is it still repairable or is a replacement recommended?” The detailed report precisely maps current and future maintenance requirements. “Production processes are expensive when they are at a standstill. Especially if the inverter is located at a bottleneck where the entire production has to pass through, then it should be replaced or serviced first,” said Thorsten Kröger, Sales and Service Drive Technology.
Our Site Assessment team receives a lot of positive feedback on the precise overview and the recommendations for action to keep operations running efficiently. “However, the on-site check does not mean that everything has to be torn out and replaced all at once – we tackle the points one by one so that everything functions safely as an overall system,” emphasised Borchert and Kröger, who also highlighted the great strength of their service teams.
